Since no one else is able (or possibly willing) to update the witlessworm.com 2009 Dead Pool, I thought I'd let you all know what the scores are with 3 days left to die (remember, no assistance from the players).

In 5th place, with 30 points, thanks to guitar makers and news anchors, is lovelylynder. Nice job, rookie!

In 4th place, with 32 points, for picking old people, is squibrants. Livejournal.com is still alive pal, despite your efforts to ignore it for a full year.

In 3rd place, with 33 points, taking a page from my book with brain cancer and over a century of cultural studies, is our web"master". That's what you get for stealing my perennial favorite! :)

In 2nd place, with 34 points, primarily due to cancers of the digestive tract, is El Jefe. Are you still alive, buddy?

Finally, with 60 points, largely because of rampant brain cancer, is yours truly. This is getting a little too easy, but I will be unable to research 2010 picks at work due to an interweb crackdown, so I may be unable to defend my (practically inevitable) championship. Seriously, if I pick you next year, watch your back; I seem to have some sick, twisted gift.

Only worms 4 & 5 have failed to predict a death, as far as I can tell (worm3 managed to nail his website for 1 point). Underboss is 6th with 20; everyone else is probably out of contention, barring a very odd (and possibly hilarious) bus crash.
